Comments: this is disgusting if this is whats causing it shut them down.(the thing about the PH of 9 being 5000 times higher than normal is incorrect maybe 500% higher

Reply#1:  The pH scale is a logarithmic scale similar to the richter scale for earthquakes.  A change from 7 to 8 indicates a 10 x change.  From 8 to 9 would be 10x and from 7 to 9 would be 100.  Most of the waters around here are below 7 ph which would make them acidic.  If the water had a pH of 6 then a Ph of 9 would make it 10x10x10 or 1000x higher.  If the water had a pH of 5 to 9 the change would be 10,000x.  It is difficult to believe that pollution could cause a change like this but it did.  Liming however is probably not the cause.

#2 This is what the mink land owner wants the residents to do. He wants them all to pay for a bag of this(http://www.clean-flo.com/systems/lake-restoration/) and dump it in the lake.  What do you think?

Reply#2:  This is not advisable and it may actually make matters worse and will then shift the liability  for what is happening in the lake.  No action should take place that is not compliant to Departments of Environment and Health

With a ph of 9.0 these Lakes are incapable of supporting aquatic life. 'Life', other than an algae bloom.
Some people in government are being 'bought' at the expense of sound ecological, common sense.
I wish you folks well, in any up coming elections but it appears that it is the non-elected bureaucrats that are not doing due diligence..perhaps they need to go for a swim in this shit

Comments: The mink industry shows no respect to their neighbours, the animals or their industry reputation. Polluting the air, water and the air we breathe.
They are in complete denial and their is nothing we can do and they know it.
The election is coming pressure all candidates for an immediate and exact answer on what they. Intend to do to stop this industry from destroying our way of life!  Do not settle for generalities!
