| Addison's disease is a chronic and insufficient functioning of the outer layer of the adrenal gland.. In former times Addison's disease was mainly caused by tuberculosis (TB). The most noticeable symptoms are among others fatigue and muscular weakness, skin coloration (bronzed skin), loss of weight, nausea and vomiting and low blood pressure. One very specific symptom is the craving and need for salt or salty foods!weakness with undue fatigue. There is usually weight loss, anorexia, pigmentation of the skin (especially at pressure points and regions of previous injury), or vitiligo, abdominal pain, vomiting, and occasionally diarrhea. |
